Timeless Portraits Series
I created the "Timeless Portraits" series to connect with traditional portraiture techniques spanning from Renaissance to classic portrait traditions. Working in charcoal and pastel, I focus on mastering the foundational approaches to light, form, and composition that have defined portraiture for centuries.
This collection includes both direct studies of sections from master works and original portraits where I apply these historical methods. Each piece represents my practical exploration of technical elements like controlled lighting, anatomical accuracy, and compositional balance that define genre and classic portraiture.
Through this series, I'm both preserving these techniques in my own practice and testing how they translate through my materials and interpretation.
